Vine & Branch Fasting Team

A Church Covered in Prayer and Fasting

At Vine & Branch Fellowship we believe prayer moves the heart of God and fasting sharpens the heart of His people.

Jesus assumed His followers would fast.

“When you fast…” — Matthew 6:16

Fasting is not about earning favor with God.

It is about humbling ourselves, seeking His will, and interceding for others.

Our Fasting Team exists to stand in the gap through prayer and fasting for the church, our community, and those who are broken and far from Christ.

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face…” — 2 Chronicles 7:14

How the Fasting Team Works

Members of the Vine & Branch Fasting Team commit to fasting one day each month for 24 hours.

Fasting begins at 6:00 PM the night before your assigned day and ends at 6:00 PM the following evening, skipping three meals and dedicating that time to prayer.

Together, our team covers every day of the month in fasting and prayer, except for Sundays and major holidays.

Each member fasts just one day per month, but as a body we maintain a continual rhythm of prayer and fasting over the life of the church.

This allows Vine & Branch Fellowship to be continually lifted before the Lord.

What We Pray For

The focus of our fasting is simple and biblical.

We pray for:

  • The broken to find healing in Christ.

    The lost to be saved.

Hearts in our church to be revived.

    Our community to encounter Jesus.

The next generation to follow the Lord.

Unity at Vine & Branch Fellowship.

Protection and wisdom for church leadership.
The Holy Spirit to lead every ministry

“The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” — James 5:16

Scripture reminds us how vital unity is in the body of Christ.

“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity.” — Psalm 133:1

A united church becomes a powerful witness to the world and a strong foundation for the work God desires to do among us.

A Spirit-Led Day of Prayer

Each month we provide a downloadable fasting devotional that all members of the fasting team use as an outline for their day of prayer and fasting.

The devotional walks through the 24-hour fast with Scripture, prayer prompts, and moments to pause and listen to the Lord.

Throughout the fast we return again and again to God’s Word.

We begin with consecration, move through prayer and intercession, and end the day listening for the voice of the Lord.

As the day progresses, we invite every member of the fasting team to pray as the Holy Spirit prompts.

When a name, need, or Scripture comes to mind — stop and pray.

“Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.” — Romans 8:14

Why We Fast Together

Throughout Scripture, God moves powerfully when His people humble themselves through fasting.

Jesus fasted.

The early church fasted.

Leaders were commissioned through fasting and prayer.

“While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said…” — Acts 13:2

We believe God still works this way today.

Our prayer is that Vine & Branch would be a church that seeks the Lord first, walks in unity, and faithfully intercedes for the broken.

Join the Fasting Team

If you feel led to stand in prayer for the church and the broken in our community, we invite you to join the Vine & Branch Fasting Team.

Members select one day each month to fast and pray.

Together we cover the entire month in prayer so that Vine & Branch Fellowship remains a church covered in prayer and fasting.

Each month you will also be able to download the fasting devotional that guides our team in Scripture, prayer, and Spirit-led intercession.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
